Shhhh...you know who

One Dollar Peep Show played a secret gig last night at The X in celebration of Oxford's premier songstress, Chantelle Pike's, birthday. Despite a technical hitch that rendered most of their synthesizers inaudible, 1DPS delivered a storming set of pure electro- punk rock 'n' soul music that had the crowd (most of whom were dressed in drag) hollering for more.

The Peepers' sound is like a double-edged scimitar; one moment the listener is being wooed by Minna and Ashley's sweet female harmonies, the next, one finds oneself being bludgeoned by Scott and Nigel's guitar and drum assault. Weaving in and out of this intriguingly schizophrenic soundclash are the bleeps and wheezes of the group's 'fifth member'- a laptop that they lovingly call 'Bot'. Except tonight he's on the fritz. No matter; get yourself down to the Zodiac, Oxford on wednesday 14th march for the full Peepshow experience.

One Dollar Peep Show: file under new emotional hardcore rave.
