PEEPSHOW PULL IT OFF

One Dollar Peep Show pulled off a stonker at the Zodiac in Oxford last Wednesday, despite guitarist 'big' Nigel Firth's best efforts to sabotage the set.

Such was the diminutive guitarist's natural high at playing their biggest engagement in the city that he extended his range of moves from merely falling over at every oppotunity (a 'highlight' of peep shows for some time now) to dropping his guitar, entangling himself with the extensive cable-ry that powers his arsenal of cheap effects boxes, and eventually short-circuiting his amplifier, killing his sound entirely.
The rest of the 'show appeared to take this in their stride; vocalists Minna Harris and Ashley White harmonising beautifully throughout, and doing that strange shimmy shimmy dance they do better than ever. Even when frontwoman Minna's microphone was switched off for the first half of 'Midnight 43' , (probably something to do with Nigel) she radiated enough good vibes that it hardly mattered; much as drummer Scott Lawrence did when he found himself finishing set closer 'Take Me Home' on his own (see above).
A shambolic, anarchic, gorgeous mess of a night.
